The goal of the Children-in-Nature program is to offer regularly scheduled time for nature exploration and gardening for all the CCLC children (infant through elementary school). The program will offer your children time for age-appropriate structured and unstructured discovery about the natural world around them. The outdoor environment is a powerful tool for physical and mental health. More time in nature can be linked to lower obesity rates, lower levels of childhood depression, improved academic performance, and lower stress. But if you ask the children, the reason to be outside is because it’s fun!
